An exhausted dog, who had been enduring harsh conditions, was given a new lease of life after being rescued by an animal protection group. When the volunteers from Patitas Sin Hogar stumbled upon her, Princess Leia had an unmistakable sadness in her eyes. Her name was coined by the team who found her, and it seemed to capture the weight of all the pain and hardship she had endured during her time on the streets. Her body showed a clear reflection of the neglect and abuse she had faced.

The young girl had no home and no one to care for her, but luckily, a group of compassionate individuals stepped in to lend a helping hand. They made sure she had food to eat and swiftly took her to the veterinarian for a thorough examination. However, their main priority was to gain her trust in people once more.

The organization known as Refugio Patitas Sin Hogar recently took in Princess Leia, rescued from Lota, and is currently providing her with the necessary care and a temporary home. In addition to flea and tick protection and eye drops for an infection, Leia is receiving high-quality food and will remain hospitalized until Wednesday when she will receive a hygienic shower before leaving her temporary home. The shelter volunteers are emotionally invested in the dog’s case, as they have been searching for Leia for a while now. Leia is a stray dog who is affectionately referred to as “Viejita de Lota” by the community she belongs to, even though she doesn’t have a specific owner and is taken care of by everyone in the neighborhood. However, one day, Leia suddenly went missing and that’s when Patitas Sin Hogar Shelter got involved and learned about her story.

The residents in the area were eager to see the dog, but they couldn’t find her. They decided to ask for assistance from the security team. Fortunately, the volunteers eventually located the dog and promised to take good care of her from that day forward. “We searched high and low for you, and we were starting to think we wouldn’t find you. We pledge to keep a close eye on you, Princess Leia. You are now part of the Patitas Sin Hogar Shelter family,” they expressed.

It’s unclear what the old dog experienced during her absence from her usual community, but now she has the opportunity to start anew and create a brighter future. The foundation expressed gratitude for the chance to help this pup, who showed bravery despite feeling scared. With the support of the community, the dog will have the chance to thrive once again. The foundation assures that they will continue to provide excellent care for this furry friend.
