A stray cat was doing her best in taking care of her three-month-old kittens when she was rescued and brought to the Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals. To everyone’s surprise, it was discovered that she was also heavily pregnant again. Just two days later, the cat went into labor and gave birth to a litter of eight cute kittens. Thankfully, she was found just in time!
Upon her arrival, the poor cat was infested with fleas after living her entire life outdoors. However, her stunning appearance and the fact that she had given birth to a litter of kittens worked in her favor, as older cats tend to get adopted more quickly. Nevertheless, what Celeste requires the most is a temporary foster home. Fortunately, a kind-hearted person named Angela took her in and provided her with a cozy place to rest and care for her babies. This was a first for Celeste, who had never known the comfort of a proper home until now. She can now nurture her lovely kittens, named Drizzle, Sunny, Breeze, Moon, Cloud, Rain, Twinkle, and Storm, all under the same roof.
Initially, there was a bit of unease in her demeanor upon arriving at my place. Having spent her entire life outdoors, everything seemed novel to her. Nevertheless, over time, she adjusted well and seemed content in receiving any assistance necessary in looking after her litter of eight.
Angela commented, “It takes a significant amount of effort and can be quite draining to raise eight children, but Celeste is an affectionate mother who deeply cares for her kittens. She exhibits remarkable patience and ensures they’re well-fed and clean.”
The sweet feline is now comfortable in her fur, living the life she always dreamed of. Her little ones are growing up fast and receiving love from both Angela and their floral grandmother. At almost three weeks old, the kittens have opened their eyes and begun to take their first steps. They rely on their sense of smell to explore their surroundings, and they hiss at anything unfamiliar.
As soon as a single kitten mews for her mother’s affection, the rest of the litter joins in with their own cries. This quickly leads to Celeste being fully consumed by her duties as a mom, particularly given that her little ones have now grown all four legs! However, once her children reach an appropriate age for adoption, Celeste will finally be able to retire from her motherly role.
Finally, she is receiving the recognition and care she deserves. She has gone through a lot, having lived a tough life on the streets. However, her main objective is to create a secure and nurturing environment for her kids. Her determination to give her little ones a life off the streets is driven by her immense love for them.
