“Kitten Duo Long for Loving Forever Home, Gaze Out Shelter Window in Hopeful Anticipation”

On a daily basis, two adorable kittens eagerly await at the window of their shelter room, hoping for a loving family to come and adopt them as a pair. These inseparable felines have captured the hearts of the volunteers from the Boyd’s Cove TNR Project who brought them to the Exploits Valley SPCA shelter in Canada towards the end of September. The shelter has made it clear that they will only let the kittens go if they are taken together into a permanent home.

The litter of eight cats included these cute kittens who were only a year old and weighed about 4 pounds. What made them even more special is that they were siblings. Luckily, their caring owners provided them with a large room filled with cozy blankets and toys where they could grow up together. These two kittens have formed a strong bond, always sticking together and even taking care of their younger siblings.

Sarah MacLeod, who volunteers at the shelter, shared with The Dodo that the two sister cats are always seen together, with their tails swaying. The feline family is doing great, but raising a large litter requires collaboration. The kittens needed more time to grow, so the shelter staff kept them in a separate room to allow for proper development. The mothers share the responsibility of caring for their eight offspring, and it’s not uncommon to see all eight kittens feeding on one of them simultaneously.

The kittens are all snuggled up so tightly that it’s hard to tell who belongs to which mommy, but Xeno and Ripley don’t seem to mind. When they’re not busy being attentive mothers, they often lounge by the window in their room, hoping for someone to notice them. They’ll sit there for long stretches of time, gazing out at people passing by, hoping to catch the eye of someone who might want to adopt them. Sarah explained, “They love looking out through the glass door into the hallway. It seems like they’re fascinated by all the activity and the attention they might get.”

Although a few of their offspring have found adoptive homes, not one of the mother cats has yet received an application. According to Sarah, “Currently, Xeno and Ripley haven’t received any adoption inquiries despite being great mothers to all eight of their kittens, who are the size of cats themselves.”

However, the two adorable kittens are now prepared to say goodbye to their mother and find a forever home that will provide them with love and care. They can be seen eagerly waiting and greeting anyone who passes by their enclosure, hoping that soon their dream of finding a loving family will come true.
