Despite currently playing alongside top talents like Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden, Walker chose to praise a former teammate as the best player he has shared the field with at City. With over 300 appearances for the club since joining in 2017, Walker has been a key player in the team’s success, winning multiple Premier League titles, the Champions League, FA Cups, and League Cups during his time at the club.

Walker made a surprising choice when picking his best team-mate at City, opting for David Silva over stars like Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne. Silva, a talented midfielder who played for City from 2010 to 2020, impressed with his 436 appearances and 77 goals, along with 130 assists during his time at the club. During an episode of the You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker podcast, Walker praised Silva as his top team-mate, despite the presence of other exceptional players like De Bruyne. Walker explained that Silva’s skill and ability to make any pass look good were what set him apart, although he acknowledged the incredible talent of players like De Bruyne and Aguero.

Walker revealed that he believes David Silva is his best ever team-mate at City

Walker expressed his admiration for David Silva, whom he considers his greatest teammate at Manchester City. He also praised the strong rapport between Silva and Leroy Sane, highlighting their seamless connection on the field. According to Walker, Silva’s understanding of when and how Sane wanted the ball, along with his ability to anticipate the team’s needs, set him apart. While Kevin De Bruyne showcased incredible skills, such as attempting daring shots like the one against West Ham, Silva’s intuition and contribution were irreplaceable. After wrapping up his career with Real Sociedad, Silva bid farewell to professional football in 2023.
