Rihanna’s Second Child Gets Another ‘R’ Name, Inspired by RZA

Meet the newest member of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s family – their baby girl, Riot Rose! As per the birth certificate obtained by People magazine, Riot Rose Mayers was born on August 1st at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, joining her elder brother RZA Athelston, who was born in May 2022. It appears that the couple has a naming convention for their children, with both their legal names starting with the letter “R.” In July, Rocky released his single “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n),” which could have been a source of inspiration for his son’s name. Moreover, Riot’s middle name, Rose, is said to have been influenced by her father’s affinity for flowers and his love for decorating with them.

The well-known musician RZA and his partner chose to keep their newborn’s name a secret, naming him after RZA’s stage name in Wu-Tang Clan. For almost a year, the public remained unaware of his name, despite subtle hints dropped by his parents, who referred to him as “baby” and wore RZA shirts. However, Rihanna’s recent feature in British Vogue divulged his name to the world as Baby Riot Rose. Despite being only a month old, he made an appearance at his mother’s Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, dressed in designer red clothing. We extend a warm welcome to you, Baby Riot Rose, and are delighted to have you here.
